چکیده
Optical interferometers are commonly used for a variety of applications, including spectral analysis, displacement measurements, and gyroscopes. They were also proposed, in a more limited sense, for applications involving image processing.' In what follows we describe three new interferometers that implement mathematical operations on images borne by coherent input laser beams. Each interferometer executes a different operator of interest in image processing. The first interferometer implements the twodimensional Hartley transform of a function f(x, y, z). The Hartley transform2 is defined by

Measurement and comparison of the temperature-dependence of refractive index of water and Plexiglas phantoms by interferometry method for their use in optical calorimetry
In radiation calorimetry by using laser beams and interferometry setups, variations induced by dose absorption in phantom can be precisely measured. Dose absorption and the induced temperature change result in refractive index variation of the material. In order to be able to measure the low amount of absorbed dose in the phantom, temperature dependence of refractive index of the material must ...
متن کاملReal-Time Heterodyne Interferometry with Correlation Image Sensor
Optical heterodyne interfereometry (HI) (R. Dändliker, 1973; N.A. Massie, 1979) is an interferometric technique that employs two interfering beams of slightly different frequencies. Interference of these beams yields a time-varying sinusoidal intensity signal whose frequency equals the difference between the frequencies of the two beams. The signal and frequency are called beat signal and beat ...
متن کاملInterferometry with Vortices
Interference of optical beams with optical vortices is often encountered in singular optics. Since interferometry makes the phase observable by intensity measurement, it brings out a host of applications and helps to understand the optical vortex. In this article we present an optical vortex interferometer that can be used in optical testing and has the potential to increase the accuracy of mea...
متن کاملAberration correction in wide-field fluorescence microscopy by segmented-pupil image interferometry.
We present a new technique for the correction of optical aberrations in wide-field fluorescence microscopy. Segmented-Pupil Image Interferometry (SPII) uses a liquid crystal spatial light modulator placed in the microscope's pupil plane to split the wavefront originating from a fluorescent object into an array of individual beams. Distortion of the wavefront arising from either system or sample...
متن کاملMonitoring of urban subway lines subsidence Using satellite radar interferometry method (Study area: Part of Tehran Metro Line 7)
Nowadays, satellite radar interferometry method plays an important role in calculating natural and artificial displacements, including displacements caused by floods, earthquakes, landslides, drilling of unauthorized wells, drilling of urban tunnels, etc. Metro tunneling is very important due to the importance of preventing irreparable financial and human losses. In Tehran, especially due to th...
